1) Is there a limit to how many times a kid can take the SAT or ACT? There is no actual limit to how many times you can take either test. In fact, it is usually a good idea to take the test at least 3 times in order to improve your superscore as well as to give yourself the best shot. For a more in-depth answer, check this out!
2) Which test should you take? The SAT or ACT? It is usually a good idea to take each test at least once just to see which one you’ll do better on. Or at least take the PSAT or PreACT at least once to see how you do on that particular test. For more, check this out!
3) When should a kid start taking the SAT or ACT? I recommend planning to take the PSAT or PreACT as a 10th grader and then start taking the SAT or ACT as a junior. Plan for 10th graders
4) How much time should you plan to spend preparing for the SAT or ACT? Our courses vary in length. Our group classes range from 6-11 weeks in length. The 6 week classes meet twice per week. Sometimes kids need to do a follow up after the group class to really reach their potential. Individual prep courses typically range from 2-6 months and meet at least once per week.
5) How many timed practice tests do kids take in your course? Kids take 2-3 full timed tests in our group courses so that we can analyze and review them. They typically take at least 3-4 full timed tests in our individual courses.
6) Do kids learn skills in your courses that help them in school and college? Absolutely, I have had many parents and students say that our courses had a positive impact on school performance and preparation for college.
7) Do your courses help students manage test anxiety? Yes, they do. Students gain a much better understanding of the test and learn strategies that boost their confidence and allay anxiety. In my experience, most kids feel much calmer and more relaxed as they become more prepared. In addition, the mock practice tests at our center help students get used to the experience and feel more confident and less anxious.
8) How does a student sign up for the SAT or ACT? To register for the SAT, go to College Board. To register for the ACT, go to ACT
